Oldham is to hold a Peace Day celebration on Saturday 22 September 2018 (13:00 – 16:00) with all activities taking place at the library and gallery on Greaves Street, OL1 1AL.
The event will be officially opened by the Mayor of Oldham and is organised by Peace Talks, Oldham along with Oldham Council. It is a free event and everyone is welcome.
There will be live music by Dobcross youth brass band, SS Aidans and Oswalds School c=Choir and the Uke 2 ukelele band.
Speakers and Workshops:
Clive Wilson – designing a world the future generations. Clive invites you on a time travel meditation to visit 2030 and to co-design a world for future generations. He is the author of ‘Designing the Purposeful World.’
Laura Topper – ‘Ommaysing Me.’ Young people‘s workshop. Through music, mindfulness and meditation, Laura encourages people of all ages to connect back to love by feeling rather than thinking.
Photographing Peace in Oldham – Four professional photographer judges – David Shaw, Lisa Maria Gee, Mina Ahmed, and Jacob King announce the winners of the competition and award prizes.
David Shaw will give a presentation on his photography project, including working with Najma Khalid and the Chai ladies women’s project.

Peace Talks An invitation is also planning to unveil a new artwork on Friday, 21 September (the UN International Day of peace) at 14:00 in Dunwood Park.
