Warning to our kind supporters:

The Tim Parry Johnathan Ball Peace Foundation has received contact from a member of the community in relation to a male calling at homes in the Eaton Ford, St Neots, Cambridgeshire area. The door to door collection is said to be seeking cash donations on our behalf, and we believe this to be an incidence of fraud.

The Foundation is a registered charity and uses a variety of methods to raise funds.  We DO NOT raise money through a door to door, or any similar, collection method, and we do not authorise anyone to do so independently.  Any collection activity is strictly regulated and would carry an official stickered tin and collectors hold identity cards and will be licenced by the local authority.  We have authorised no such collection and are notifying people in the area to be alert to any attempts to raise money on our behalf and not to make any donations through this method.

This individual is asking householders to donate money and he is using a tin collection for them to do so. He is offering no form of identity and is not able when questioned, to state what the charity is about. The incident took place at around 17:00 on Tuesday 24th October 2017 and was reported the next day.

We are urging the public to be vigilant should this incident reoccur.

The National Fraud team (Action Fraud) have been notified and they have taken a full statement.

This is a description of the collector:

· Male
· Late 60’s
· Grey hair
· Smartly dressed

The Tim Parry Johnathan Ball Peace Foundation DO NOT encourage door to door collections as a form of fundraising and we urge you to contact your local police station if you notice anything suspicious.

Please note in general – it is your entitlement as a donor to see a letter of authorisation from any door – to – door fundraiser and also a copy of a collection permit – this is required for all public collections as is identification from the fundraiser.

Our charity relies on the generosity of the public and you can donate safely using the button at the top of this page.  Thank you for your support and please be vigilant!

Anyone who is approached as above please contact your local Police and report to Action Fraud quoting crime reference NFRC171002065330
